I had the same issue then I was downloading the MOD, if you try not downloading the Snow Mod and just the mutliplayer its should work fine.

The issue is trying to be fixed by the developers fast as possibl, just jump in the game and keep playing. You are not the only on getting this Error. Thanks

I understand the issue you are having and you have done something wrong then you are installing the ETS2MP client. Then you are installing the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Multiplayer and are coming the page you need to browse please follow this: Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Euro Truck Simulator 2 INFO: If the issue is still there, i am not 100% sure what the problem is, but reply on the forum and I will try my best helping you out.

are you currentlig have any mods installed? / is this first time starting ETS"?

Can you go an check the game.log file says? You can find it with following this (This will maybe help us to know what the problem is.)

If you already have the winter mod you don't need to download it against. just select the multiplayer and it will works and go faster.
