  1. 1) the autosave does pop up in the top left and causes a very slight blip in play but its always done this. The freezing im meaning is a full on frozen screen for like 8 seconds.

    2) Im not sure. I dont think i am. Only thing ive changed is install rockstar game launcher and the proess lasso program which controls the cores. I may uninstall it and see if it solves it.

    3) I fired all my AI drivers a year ago. The freezing has only started happening last night, which makes me think its something to do with the process lasso program.

Ive not tried sim 1 as i only play on promods 1 so i may give that a try to see if its server or promod related and not my machine at all

The only other thing i can think of is theres been an minor update or patch or something in the last week?

  2. Has anyone else been suffering from temp freezing of the game for anything between 3 and 8 seconds. Literally the screen freezes and resumes from where it froze. Im also getting an occasional mild 'clicking' in the sound every 20-30 seconds or so.

Never noticed this before last night. The only thing ive changed is install process lasso software which was to help red dead redemption run without freezing. While it could be this, i believe that any management of the cores is program specific?

I just want to establish if its my end or server end? (i tested my ethernet connection and i was getting 67mpbs and 25+ upload so my internet is fine)

  3. Great guide and caught my attention as ive just bought a 2nd hand g920.

I honestly thought it was plug and play with the only set up being inside ets2 option/controls to tell the game youre usi g a wheel and to set up a few buttons.

    Is this not the case?

  4. Suggestion Name:

section for drivers to advertise when they are looking to join a company.

    Suggestion Description:

Add maybe a template to fill in so people can see the sort of driver you are and what your looking for and then let interested companies contact you.

    Why should it be added?

System works well on other games i play - looking for group - type thing

Having tried the current way, ive applied to lots of companies, been accepted only to find they arent the sort of thing im looking for so i leave again.

  5. Occasionally I come across roadworks or incidents at the side of road that are left over from SP when playing in MP.

Most are just a super brave policeman stood at side of road while trucks whizz by but occasionally I come across a whole section of coned off area. Id been avoiding them but I saw a player drive straight through them recently like they weren't there. So.… next time I came across one I did the same and drove straight at it.... guess what..... you cant drive straight through them. It stopped me dead and wrecked my truck.

Im guessing these are locally spawned on your own screen/client but not necessarily on other players? and they are in fact real obstacles that you cant drive through..Is that right?

Seems like an accident waiting to happen if so.. Ie I move over to avoid the obstacle that another player cant actually see on their screen. It will look like im trying to block.

  6. Im a mature driver (47yrs old) with a family. Im generally a solo player with no friends. I was looking for a VTC to join where I could be part of something but not have to ‘socialise’ if I didn’t want to. I wanted driver logs etc and feel like there was a purpose to be spending 6hrs on a Saturday driving a virtual truck.

It needed to have other mature drivers, even if it was a good mix of ages. There was a few that advertise and I made the mistake of joining one where I was going to be tested by a schoolboy on whether I could drive or not (having had a RL car license of 30years). The discord was full of teenage banter and it simply wasn’t the one for me.

So I just went lone wolf for a long time and found myself hanging in popular areas so I could feel like I was in a MP game like a lost puppy.

I then decided to join a VTC again and looked on the forum. Theres one that appears as the  Stobart of VTC’s (I know there is a Stobart VTC). That VTC was Viva. They are everywhere and most people know the colours. I applied late last week and was accepted within 10 mins. Since driving around this weekend ive seen loads of other Viva drivers who all want to chat, pair up and convoy. Its like you’ve just found a team mate even if you’ve never spoke before. Ive not joined the discord chat yet and I haven’t  been on a full convoy but im still enjoying it. Ive had loads more ‘honks’ from other drivers on the road than I did when solo and people do seem to drive more sensibly around you, I assume as they know you will be a courteous and professional driver. It’s a win win for me.

  7. I think for this to happen it needs to involve as little work for the admin/project teams as possible. The more things they would have to do for it to be functional then the less likely we would be of seeing it in game.

The reason I suggested Eu4 was because if I did what I did when I got banned after just a few days in game, if I did that on Eu4, it wouldn't have resulted in a ban. I would still have seen the potential accident but no real harm would have happened. As a genuine player and not a troll, I had learnt from that and drive much more defensively now.

My view is that just because there's no collision, genuine drivers will still play as if there is. The trolls wont be interested as they can cause harm to others.

The trolls are also the reason I can only see Eu4 being appropriate. Don't forget a typical troll will have very few hours, and their sole purpose is to cause upset to others. That's what they find funny. After a while they log off and go back to their usual games or troll another game. The last thing we want to do is send all the trolls to Eu1 full simulation server! They'd have a field day with the hardcode players that take it the most seriously.

How do you ensure that new players will drive to gain experience on that dedicated server and not just sit idle somewhere?
I think that the amount of hours played is not a valid indicator for driving experience.

That’s a fair comment but….If they are prepared to sit idle somewhere, after a certain small amount of time they get AFK kicked anyway, just like we all do. If they are then prepared to sit idle, nudging the mouse every so often so not afk then they are pretty desperate! They may as well just be driving around in that time getting to know the game.

If they do go the ‘sit idle nudging mouse’ route then with no experience they will soon run into trouble and find themselves back on Eu4 again.

I understand that this is for new players to MP which really would deter trolls either trying to ban evade since they would only be allowed on EU 4 or maybe having this also as a punishment that is they do cause issues on other servers, rather than banning them, force them back onto EU 4 to improve their driving and attitude.

    Exactly that.

A troll couldn't cause any damage as they would be on the free roam server. Once they get onto the normal servers, the first time they get banned, they are back over to EU4. They cant ban evade as the new profile would eu4. If it works correctly, it should create 3 servers that are troll free.

In terms of new players, they don't need to panic about hitting anyone and the toxic aftermath/potential bans from simply not being used to driving a truck etc. A genuine player would understand they need the training wheels on for a set amount of time to climatise to the way tmp works.

Any existing players that get banned, could be moved onto Eu4 rather than turned away totally for 3 days/a month etc

  10. at the end of the day, everyone has a choice.

You either play MP (which is someone elses mod on a server that we are all guests), or you don't.

    1. If youre ok with the rules, great, welcome to the community.
    2. If you don't,  Just log off and play SP or another game. Ps - can I have your stuff.

Its simply really. Cant understand why some people are getting all privileged about it.

  11. Game: Euro Truck Simulator 2

Mod Version: current plus 3 previous versions.
    Controllers Used: DS4
Description of Issue: Don’t know if these are linked but occasionally in certain towns ( Malmo is one) I get ‘trailer damage 0%’ flashing up every 2 seconds. More of a distraction than anything else. Then yesterday same thing happened and when I looked my truck had gone from 0 to 42% damaged. It then started stalling and the usual ‘headlights or get kicked etc’. There wasn’t anyone around and I didn’t hit anything.
How to reproduce: Normal driving in Malmo (and other towns)
    Screenshots / Videos:none

  12. Ive just heard that my local Porshe dealer is giving away free car hire. So I went down to see what the deal was. Doesn’t cost a thing apparently. They provide use of a new Porsche as long as you stick to a few rules. I read the rules, signed on the line and had a go in a new Porsche (I could even choose the colour). But then I wasn’t happy. Apparently you can only stick to the speed limits. Wasn’t having any of that rubbish so complained. They said ‘sorry that’s rules – its a free Porsche, no cost you – just don’t speed’… I wasn’t having this dictatorship enforced on me so I argued again. Then I got my mates to argue too. In the end I stood outside the show room with signs to show how unhappy I was. Outrageous…..

Im now on a bicycle. Those B****ds wont beat me.

    Sir,

I'm not missing any detail from this game, I have all DLCs available, my map is 100,00% explored that should tell you something, I have achieved every achievement required by the game which requires you to visit unusual areas. I'm driving custom routes that are 6000+ km long. I'm combining highways, local roads cities ad so on, I'm driving on the area that are not used that much so I'm seeing much more of the scenery than people driving 90km/h on the routes proposed by the game.

I was really looking forward to next DLC and to drive some long deliveries from Sicily to Finland.

Hang on... youre confusing quantity with quality.....

if you drive everywhere at 182kph, of course your cover the full map quicker. But have you picked out the details that SCS put into the game. The way AI life goes on around you as you drive around, the little details that the SIMULATION game so great. at 182kph you'll be more concerned with just getting around the next corner.

But unfortunately I don't think youre ever going to see anyone elses opinion as possibily a fair one.

WOW let's take your logic, because your logic is broken.

You are afraid of being hit by someone, why you don't play on EU4? Nobody can hit you there. Is it because no-one goes there?

You want simulation, you have server specifically created for that matter, the EU1. Why you don't go there? Is it because no-one goes there?

Devs already introduced EU1 specifically for you but you are not using it. Now you are ruining experience and fun for the players that have different play style.

The only whiners and cry babies are those who want to drive 90-120km/h on EU2 and abuse reporting system, the aftermath is initialization of this what you call "drama"

As for the GTA reference, ETS2 is designed and created the way that allows players to play and drive at higher speed, go to SCS forums and write letter to SCS devs and tell them that they have created game that is similar to GTA.

If it's similar to GTA then we have ended how much of the "simulation" is this game discussion.

How is that broken logic? Its exactly the same logic as youre applying. Both sims and GTA racers have other options but they both choose to play on the same server, which is where the problem is. The only people crying are the ones who don't want the speed limit. That's a fact.  Show me a single post where the ones in favour are crying about it being introduced.

Facts are..... admins are clearly sick of the many speed related reports and are clamping down on it. We haven't petitioned for it, they've done it themselves. Read their posts about it. They didn't feel they needed to consult the player base. What does that say to you??

PS, I didn't say the game was GTA.... I said some players drive like its GTA.... Don't twist words.

Anyway, its talked to death now. The speed limit is here to stay so either get with the program or get off the bus. (ps can I have your stuff)

  15. I need some help with save editing.

How would I save edit the ‘phoenix’ paint job from old Scania onto one of the new models. Would this be local only even though it’s a default paintjob? I would like other players to see the brilliant creation I'm thinking up!

I'm also assuming as its a current in game paintjob then it wouldn't break any MP rules?

  16. 1 hour ago, MrG721 said:

    What are you talking about?

The only simulation server is the EU1 and it is clearly stated [SIMULATION]

In the real world trucks are limited to 90km/h, the EU1 is limited to 90km/h thus equals SIMULATION, there you can feel like true professional.

You can go over 90km/h in the real life but then yo have to hack and bypass speed limiter meaning you are entering in NON SIMULATION zone.

What you wannabe simulation drivers want is custom simulation, meaning driving faster (110/120/130 km/h) than in the real world but obeying red lights etc etc..

But no wannabe sim drivers come to non sim server and cry about high speed, chocking the roads, driving 90km/h on the fast lane, abusing reporting system.

There are reasons why wannabe sim drivers are not going to EU1, for some of them 90km/h is too slow the other reason is in human nature, we humans like to stay in groups and to drive alone on an empty server is boring as hell and the last reason is there is not that many sim drivers in the community as you want to present and that's a fact, that's the reason why EU1 is empty most of the time.

    Configure the servers like this

EU1 - 90km/h limit, for the true professionals and real sim lovers.

EU2 - no speed limit, free for all, no pain/no gain/no complain, respect and be respeted

EU3 - 120km/h limit, for wannabe sim drivers who find 90km/h too slow

EU4 - 120km/h limit, no coalition zone, make it double safe for wannabe sim drivers

I don't care about 3 servers from this list, you shouldn't care about just 1 server.

The EU2 will remain the most populated server because of the reasons I have stated above, mark my words.

You have 3 options so don't come on EU2 and act like real cry baby.

Lets not forget why this whole drama started. It wasnt the sim drivers complaining.... it was the GTA drivers who now are restricted to 150kph.....

but lets take your logic forward for a second... before the restriction, why don't the speeders want to play on Eu4 where they cant hurt anyone?   Is it because no-one goes there? Its the same reason people don't play on Eu1, population. If the devs introduce Eu4 with no speed restriction will you go play there instead?

As for cry baby.... the only people I see whinging are the ones who want to drive a truck at 182kph and now cant..... Strangely, as one of the game mods said these are also the people with the most ban records.....strange that.

But above all, if someone gives you something for free, are you entitled to whinge on and on about it?
