  1. That and consider changing your antivirus program maybe. Avast used to be very good, now it likes to get in the way a lot. I personally use Panda Free and Windows Defender in conjunction. Running Spybot S&D sometimes and keeping Windows and all crucial software up to date as well. My weapons of choice. Also keeping risky browsing far away from my Windows setup. I think Avast has a feature where you can turn it off for a certain amount of time, so if you forget to turn it back on it'll reactivate itself anyways. Also, I'd like to hope that most people can remember to turn a switch back on. On topic: Thanks for the update guys! Synched traffic lights and distance in tab is very welcome and I think I'm gonna treat myself with a delivery now. *honk honk*
  2. Thanks guys, just installed the latest version and going to go for a spin now, can't sleep at the moment anyways. Good journey might help me sleep in half an hour or so. Distance being gone and transparency as well as placement already sounds bad to me, but I like the rest. Avatars seem like a great idea. When someone crashes me I tend to remember their truck design, not their name (simply don't react fast enough to read the text). Sometimes they pull off the scene quite quick and then I won't be able to tell who it was by distance anymore, the avatar however at least will help me recognize them again, since you remember and spot visuals better than text.
  3. In that case one could have a video settings toggle for that.
  4. I'd rather want this in the core game to be honest. Suggest this to SCS maybe: http://www.scssoft.com/contact.php
  5. Gotcha, optional still to me in the way it is now, but I think I'd agree that having it opt-in instead of opt-out would seem more appropriate.
  6. Why sadly, it's optional. Just disable it when you feel your in-game winter is over. One of the nicer things over reality is that usually when you don't like something, you can toggle it. I'd really appreciate a more synced approach though, so anyone who goes by the officially laid out rhythm of winter/summer would get synched weather. So basically ETS2MP would get two dates during the year to change an officially suggested on/off toggle state and whoever joins gets synched weather conditions. Just a thought though. Also, I cannot express how irritating the sun at night is.
  7. One could try to save all raw data (positions of trucks, speeds, previous route of 1-2km, signals used and maybe any text in chat from those two truckers) to later on find out after it happened who to blame. Maybe also data like connection latency (ping) and server load (so any possible desync reason that can be captured server-side). It's pretty much what insurance companies and police do in the real world.
  8. Graphic engine is being fed info from other parts of the game. So what he actually meant is that the graphic engine is getting laggy input.
  9. Ah come on guys, had a good laugh for a short while, left the city and kept on trucking. The 90° corner leading to the high way after leaving the port though, THAT was horrible. I'll have some harlem shake any day over getting stuck in port traffic, getting flung into the air and taking 100% damage making my game crash. Also, as rooL- said, guys are working for nothing but joy and dedication. I'm super thankful for their servers! Keep in mind, MP is in beta still, so there's that.
  10. Recently thought about this myself, glad to see I'm not the only one who'd appreciate such a feature. F7+Enter can really slow down a convoy, especially when some lower levels are trucking with you and they are already working on a 20+ t trailer with their sub 500HP engines. But granted, nothing I'd make a priority for now, there are other things that would be much nicer for the same time spent coding and testing
  11. Just had 2 guys ram me, one of them did it twice (yes, he actually followed me around until I was turning into a corner and he could eventually catch up again, being trailer-less he obviously had better acceleration and used that quite well) Also, I'd really love if a server without admins would automatically become a freeroaming server. Sucks to see that your reports vanish in the metaphorical "suggestion box" (imagine an image of a trash bin here) when you just had to fork out well over 50,000€ to fix the aftermath of some poor soul's boredom.
  12. Absolutely deserved, great job guys, the amount of dedication ETS2 has ensparked is fascinating.
