Well this is just fabulous....

I had spun up an aws deep learning instance for a research project for uni and I had finally finished doing all the experimentation sometime after 4am Saturday morning ( started the friday morning). After feeling a sense of relief I stopped the instance to stop incurring costs...or at least I 'thought' I did, checked the bill, went to bed and started working on the documentation from 12:30 pm Saturday afternoon until a few minutes ago. I was ready to continue my journey to finish the wot event when I had a strange feeling that something wasn't right. So I decided to look over my findings for the project, verify the amount I would have to pay at the end of the month and take a look on the instance to see if I had copied all my files. A quick check reviled that I was charged an extra $50 USD for having the machine sit and idle  now I'll have to find and extra $5300 out of nowhere to pay the bill come month end. Moral of the story: Always check that instance that should be 'off' regularly :'( 

On a side note I just have another two weeks till I'm graduating then it's celebration for 3 days till I have to start an internship :D. Three WHOLE days boys!!! o/
