Well the time specification for rules was ditched some time ago because they discovered it always depended on the circumstances. They did have different time specifications for all rules, but these were removed during a rule rewrite- the admin will consider all circumstances (E.g. Previous offences, how severe the save edit was, etc.) when banning

There's no hard line between what's deemed excessive or not. However, the user who breaks that rule will be banned permanently, then will be asked to make a ban appeal with proof of removal of those accessories considered as excessive.

 

Things like this will likely get someone banned:

 

More than one full length trailer

 

This one was borderline but admin decided to let it pass because it didn't add any collision box...

 

Don't mess with too much negative cargo mass please...

 

I've often seen admins declining my reports for things like this, while they clearly didn't know that this does in fact add more collision box.

 

Adding too many big lights in spots they are not meant to be

 

No beacons are allowed outside of the roof grill

Best thing to do if you are unsure about a mod or save edited truck is to email feedback to check before using it

for example I asked about this truck in feedback first and got the response that it was fine

Also asked about this trailer once and again its and ok to have and recently made a mod of it using a trailer make tool and checked to be sure it was ok cause the traieler weights started at 1t up the the heavy trailers cause most trailers become this one and it was ok

Cows on trailers like the box ones or willig tanker or a flatbed are ok as they are ncz and do not extend the trailers hitbox

but as Benji posted above its borderline if you have them on trailers where they stick out away beyond the trailer so you do risk a ban

this is another trailers thats ok as the cement mixer does not extend the trailers hitbox

there are questionable trucks going around lately tho using DAF parts, the sun shields in particular which often stick out the sides so might not be good to use those

you may also notice the new scanias with green lights, thats done by adding more then one of the lights (the more you add the greener the lights) and thats ok but you wouldn't go adding a huge amount, same with making the little leds a little brighter, you wouldn't want to be adding a huge amount, only add them a few times at most.

here are some of my trucks that are save editing which are ok

Truck and trailer save editing cannot extend the hitbox so if you have a truck or trailer that has parts added with save editing sticking out the sides or out the back then that would be excessive and possibly bananble

Cows are ncz so don't extend the hitbox but you wouldn't want to be putting the cows on the small dump trailers as thats very borderline 

You also cannot have a truck with floating parts, not all parts will fit all trucks so you need to be careful that parts you fit to a truck that are from another actually fit nicely and do not stick out or float

If you are unsure about something better to ask

The one thing I'm a bit unsure bout atm is the Michelin man on the bottom front bar, seen it alot lately and think its ok anyway but I'm not fully sure about that one yet

here for example, I'm not going to use this one yet until I can confirm that its ok to have the Michelin man there, also as you can see the Renault and Scania fit together nicely wheres other trucks will not fit on the Scania properly (the old Merc for example is wider then the new Scania so using a truck like this but with the old Merc body might not be a good idea

Being able to make interesting different looking trucks and trailers with save editing is great However there are limits to what you can do so you need to follow mod guidelines and be careful   If your unsure of something it is better to ask first
