  5. Last Summer, we conducted a community survey, to which we received many responses – thank you for sharing your views! Some of the things you shared with us required additional information to interpret. In order to do that together with the community, we invited community representatives to the user panel we announced along with the survey. Some productive discussions have followed since then, including topics about game moderation and server configuration (which entails settings such as collisions and server speed limits). As we move forward, we would like to gather more insights from the wider community to refine our approach. We are aware of dissatisfaction regarding our game moderation and have taken note of numerous complaints and concerns from within and beyond our community. Furthermore, we have received much feedback about our server configuration, particularly with regards to the server speed limits we enforce on the Simulation servers. In short, a lot of the feedback we have received has challenged the 'Road to Simulation' initiative we launched in 2019 (see blogs below). Road to Simulation blog 1 | July 2019 Road to Simulation blog 2 | August 2019 Road to Simulation blog 3 | February 2020 Announcing a series of short surveys The feedback from the community survey provided mere indications for the most part. In order to align our practices with the community's needs, we hope you can help us by providing more specific insights. Throughout February, we will therefore be conducting short 5-minute surveys every 'long' weekend on a specific topic, with the surveys opening Friday afternoon and closing Tuesday night (UTC time zones). Surveys will be posted on the following dates: Feb 10-14 | Game moderation Feb 17-21 | Server configuration (has been extended to the 28th due to high interest) Feb 24-28 | Community Platforms: Forums and Discord Stay updated! Please keep an eye on the Polls & Surveys page this month if you wish to participate and voice your opinion. You can also stay updated by joining our Discord server or following our Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. The results will be shared via a blog post later in March. Thank you in advance and see you on the roads! --> View post on homepage

  6. I've finished the survey. It's nothing that hasn't been discussed here in the forums already several times before. Hopefully, this time our voices will be heard and considered.

  11. Just done it. Would be great to be able to go back to the survey (in read-only mode) to go back to the information shared by the staff on this survey. I have to say that I'm a bit puzzled with the meanings/differences between: Collisions βœ“ / Speed Limit βœ“ / Road Rules βœ“ (current Simulation server) and Collisions βœ“ / Speed Limit X / Road Rules βœ“ I understand that no Speed Limit means you can drive at 150+Km/h But to me if you have both "Road Rules" and "Speed Limit" enabled we should have the road speed limits enforced. Not allow "speed limits" higher than the road ones. Otherwise Road Rules shouldn't be really marked as enabled. Especially when you know that we are already not banning people if they don't respect the road rules and don't bother anyone (i.e. not respecting the traffic lights or not respecting road signage for overtaking someone). In my view, currently we are more in this situation "Collisions βœ“ / Speed Limit X / Road Rules βœ“". Being able to drive at 110Km/h on small countryside roads is equivalent to no speed limit for me. And "Collisions βœ“ / Speed Limit X / Road Rules X" would be when you really have no speed limit (150+Km/h). That's just my opinion. I'm sharing it. Also, the survey mentions 2 positions they are trying to find a middle ground for: Allowing any speed (which would annoy hardcore simulation players) or set road speed limits (would be boring for some players). But what about removing speed limits but make the truck stability and braking settings more realistic so that people have to drive more responsibly if they don't want to hit a wall or go off the road on each turn? That way people from both sides would not find it boring: people who would be bored at slow speed would now be challenged to drive as fast as possible on twisty roads (but they would have to drive MUCH slower) but on motorways and straight line (non-dangerous zones) they would still be able to go fast. And hardcore simulation drivers would probably find it more interesting as people would drive less recklessly (otherwise they would get an immediate punishment/crash) and at lower speed in dangerous zones. That said, I have no idea if that's easy to implement?

  13. Quo vadis, TruckersMP? The recent TruckersMP announcement of a series of three short surveys (Game moderation, Server configuration, The forum as a community platform) started a discussion about the purpose and possible consequences of their results. While the claimed purpose is to "gather more insights from the wider community to refine our approach", the following statement in particular has raised concerns in the rows of simulation fans: "Furthermore, we have received much feedback about our server configuration, particularly with regards to the server speed limits we enforce on the Simulation servers. In short, a lot of the feedback we have received has challenged the 'Road to Simulation' initiative we launched in 2019 (see blogs below)." Meanwhile, the TruckersMP team tries to appease, stating that many of the arguments put forward were pure speculation. It was TruckersMP who introduced Road To Simulation in 2019 to "enhance trucking simulation as we know it", based on "simulation has sadly moved to the side and trolls take up a percentage of that player base". Not even two years and two more Road To Simulation tweak posts later, the TruckersMP team rowed back in May 2022 and made an alarming rules update, in which they dropped all permanent bans due to history and with that, open their doors wide for the return of former perpetrators. Against this background, the still pending survey about server configuration naturally puts oil into an already blazing flame of concerns about which part of the community will get their will this time.

  14. I agree that TruckersMP is a deserted place off the few infamous areas, which is unrealistic and boring and made me return to Singleplayer. The TruckersMP team released a teaser on Youtube in 2018 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck1lJCHYJeE) in which they showed AI traffic on their game server. In 2021, they addressed AI traffic again in a blog post (https://truckersmp.com/knowledge-base/article/105). According to this post, AI traffic is still planned to be implemented, but no release date can be provided. Maybe a team member of TruckersMP can comment and provide an update on this important feature.

  15. No doubt, racing has a competitive character and often depends on a time to distance ratio. It's purpose can be to outgain and/ or outdistance something/ somebody, and can be accompanied by blocking others and/ or sudden and aggressive lane changes. Racing doesn't need a physical opponent, which makes it difficult to distinguish from speeding. Thanksfully, game rules Β§2.5 defines both as Reckless Driving: IImpatience can lead to reckless driving bahaviors, including inappropriate overtaking maneuvers in congested areas, which might be an answer to why players sometimes ignore the actual traffic situation and endanger others and themselves. My simple advise is to stay alert, be aware of the traffic situation and act in a way that doesn't harm or endanger others.

  25. Hello, I saw a post just recently that was asked 2 years ago and close with an answer then. So, I'm redoing it for personal reason, are there going to be any NPC cars added in? Roads feel so empty in here.. Aside from the 1000 > 2000 trucker player place. Normally I come across by 4-10 people, if not more but it's still quite rare. The post I looked at is here:

  30. All official rules are in place during an official TruckersMP event. Although, there are some that are different from the public servers. Be sure to follow these rules when attending an official TruckersMP event. Last updated: 03 Nov 2023 Overtaking - It is not permitted to overtake during a convoy. If you are overtaking, you will be kicked from the server on your first offence. The second offence will be a ban depending on the situation. Cars - Use of cars are prohibited during any convoys organised by TruckersMP as they are reserved for staff. The only cars you will see during a convoy will be either Game Moderators or the Event Team. If you are caught using a car during an event, you will be kicked from the server. Repeated offences may result in a ban for the duration of the event. Reckless Driving - Please ensure that you are keeping a safe distance from the player in front of you, to ensure you can stop safely. There will be Game Moderators watching over the event, making sure that participants are acting appropriately. Free-roam - Roaming throughout the server and not following the event is not allowed. You must be participating with the convoy, or in the surrounding areas. Failure to comply will result in removal from the event server. Convoy Control - You must follow convoy control instructions given by the TruckersMP team. They are there to ensure that everyone is driving in the correct direction and alert you of upcoming hazards. You can identify them by their coloured usernames and in-game tag! They will be driving a police car. Their instructions must be followed at all times, otherwise, you will be removed from the event server. Signs and barriers - You must adhere to any overhead signs (Including the "Red X"), directional arrows, barriers and any other object placed down on the road. You must not drive around them and/or ignore them as they are placed to ensure your smooth passage at our events. Trailers - Unless explicitly stated otherwise, a trailer is required to participate in our convoy's. For Euro Truck Simulator 2; you should not exceed two (2) trailers. For American Truck Simulator; you should not exceed two (2) trailers with the exemption of the base triple. Heavy Haul cargo is not permitted for either game (empty trailers are permitted so long as you are not causing a gap). If your trailer is causing gaps in the convoy, you may have to pull over or teleport to the Services. Traffic Signals - The convoy will have priority over traffic signals. It is not required for convoy participants to stop at red traffic signals, or yield at junctions unless directed otherwise. The event servers are only online for the duration of the event, they are not available 24/7.
