In this guide I will show you how to change the colour of your license plate's text! WARNING: This won't work if you have an active license plate on World of Trucks. Make sure to remove that before proceeding. Step 1: Setting up your save profile. To do this we will have to edit your save profile. First we need to make your profile save in a format that can be decrypted. Go to the ETS2 My Documents folder: (C:\Users\[Your username]\Documents\EuroTruckSimulator2) and open the config.cfg with Notepad. Once you've opened it, press Ctrl + F and search for g_save_format and change the number to "2", as seen below. Now start the game, sign into your desired profile and then quit the game so that it can auto-save in the new format. Step 2: Save Editing For this step you will need to download the save decrypter from here. Go back into your ETS2 My Documents folder, and open the profiles folder. (Not profiles(1.18.1.3s).bak or something like that. Those are backups the game makes when it updates.) If you look at the "date changed" of the folders there, you'd see your most recently used profile will have the most recent date and time. (If you don't see that, click on "View" at the top of the window and selected "Details" from the list) open that then open the save, followed by the autosave folder. Paste SII_Decrypt.exe here. Before we do any editing, it's best if you make a backup of the game.sii, in case something goes wrong. Once that's done, drag the game.sii over the SII_Decrypt.exe and it will decrypt the save profile. Now, open the game.sii with notepad. The easiest way to find the line we want to edit is to search for you truck's current license plate in the game. Mine is "KE 51 000", so I'll press Ctrl + F and search for that. You should find a line looking something like this: license_plate: "KE 51 000|denmark" Just to make sure it's the correct truck, look at the lines below it, they will tell you what make and model it is. Sometimes if the plates have some sort of coat of arms or sticker on them, the line will look like this: <offset hshift=2><img src=/material/ui/lp/czech/frontb.mat color=FFFFFFFF width=5 height=50> You can just leave it be, or erase it if you don't want to have the sticker on your plate. While you are here you could also change the text and country of the license plate. This is a handy method to get different vanity plates on different trucks, unlike World of Trucks' single vanity plate applied on all of your trucks. "KE 51 000|denmark" Red: Text of plate Blue: Country of plate Note: You can only use countries that are in the game. If you write something like "argentina" it will only crash the game, or give you a blank plate. You also cannot use special symbols like $%&@ etc. Dashes ( - ) are allowed. Now, to the colouring part. To change the color of the text, you must place this between the " and start of the text of the plate: <color value=FF088A85> FF - Transparency - You don't need to touch this, so just leave it there. 08 - Blue channel 8A - Green channel 85 - Red channel NOTE: In comparison to traditional color codes, the blue and red channels are with switched positions. We will fix this later when we pick ourselves a new color. This is how your line should now look: license_plate: "<color value=FF088A85>KE 51 000|denmark" Next, we will go to this website to get the colour code of our desired colour. We will select a colour, then copy the highlighted value: Next, we go back to the game.sii and change the color code, as shown previously. You must keep the "FF" infront (That is the alpha channel for the opacity which needs to stay as it is. Now, the line for the license plate will look like this: Remember, we need to switch the blue and red channels, so the code "00FF26" will become: license_plate: "<color value=FF26FF00>KE 51 000|denmark" Now save the text file and close it. Now when you go into the game, you will see your newly coloured license plate. ENJOY!

Now we have all heard of the infamous Europoort where it can cause many bans/kicks and also many trips to the repair station. With the help of some fellow truckers (mentioned in the text somewhere) and what I've seen from driving, I have come up with a survival guide on europort. Most important tip - Treat people how you want to be treated and don't do stuff you wouldn't do in real life There is also an ETS2MP based Highway code you can read (W.I.P) CCTV If you know your journey goes through Europoort, you can check the CCTV to see how busy it is Reporting The following links will help you report someone in game. Report System Report System Help You're banned, what do i do? You can make an appeal here Journey to Rotterdam/Europoort Make sure you have plenty of fuel, Make sure your truck is 0 or a relativity low damage point, If it above 10%, i would recommend having a repair because engine problems can be a pain and may annoy other truckers. Journey towards Europoort I recommend staying in the left lane as this means you won't need to change lane and at the merge lane section, this will cause less problems and possibly less queues From the merge lane to the europoort, make sure you don't go on the wrong side of the road as this will cause you more problems, possibly delay your delivery even more as you will have to battle two sides of road at the same time and it will mainly lead you into a ban. As well as this when you are doing jobs, Your GPS will tell you to follow the blue line, But if it busy on that area, Use the red line, I have found this to be faster and less congested then the blue line Europoort non-collison zones The lines in Orange is where the Non-collision start (Going towards the port) and close (Going away from the port), If you have a trailer truck when going out, please bare this in mind and if you are going out without a trailer, please slow down and leave enough room so you don't go inside of the truck and cause problems. Aurora has created a useful video on how to survive in Europoort which is better than mine Dashcam For recording Rammers etc, i recommended a service called Plays.tv or shadowplay (Nvidia only) Plays.tv or shadowplay will allow you to record a crash that just happened, you press two keys on your keyboard and then it'll record a previous 2 mins or how ever long you have set it for and then you upload it online and then fill out a report. Plays.tv is like YouTube where you can upload videos but in game you press the key bind to record like the last 2 mins or more then you close the game and open up the plays.tv editor which allows you to crop the video down and then you upload it to plays.tv General Tips Turn of beacons whilst in the area if it is laggy as this will reduce lag. If you know your truck is truly stuck or broken down press F7 and enter as soon as possible, This will make everyone's lives easier. "I noticed one thing driving with 30%+ damaged tires... once the tires get to a point in % the damage bar only shows the tires damage so you dont know the actual damage with out going to the Diagnosis part of the game (stop in a safe spot hit esc its on the right under my truck). Why drive with damaged tires? Well for one thing if you know what your doing even at 50% the truck is controllable. Second anything beyond 40% simulates a snowy/icy road." - Egg-Roll If you accidentally hit someone just say sorry an that you didn't mean it, so it doesn't escalate further down the road or in chat. If you want to leave the game, park up somewhere safe so you don't spawn in the middle of the road. Don't spam the horn, 1 or 2 times may be long enough but not 10 times in a short time as this is annoying (If they didn't hear you the first time, they probably didn't hear you the 100th time.You could also use your light horn in your truck (Basically turns your lights on for a short time) Make sure you leave plenty of room between you and the truck infront Just have patience seen as the admins are doing everything Also please don't push in, This will generally happen when there is a long queue but people drive past on the wrong side to get further into the queue. Please don't do this and this may hold you even longer and if people are like me ( ), were they hate people who jump in, They will make sure you don't push infront of them. If you require the need to chat, it may be better to stop the truck as I've found from personal experiences is that driving at 55mph in a built up area then you use chat, your truck then has no control so you crash and possibly annoy someone. Sometimes use an external view instead of a internal view as this may save abit of your framerate, you can also press F11 which will turn off player tags (Saves around 3 - 7 FPS, as tesco says, every little helps) Try and remember the correct side of the road you're driving on when going to Ferries - Uk (Left side) Outside of UK (Right side) Also don't park in the tunnel before europoort (Like i did in the pic) as this can be highly annoying at times More tips - thecharrr If you got a longer load, aka not special containers, and unsure if you can make the turn without going in the other lane at the first curve in, enter the opposing lane before turning. The GPS route is the one you want when heading out, as you still need to make a right anyways Loading into ETS2MP around Rotterdam should be done within no collide areas otherwise you highly risk loading into someone else and giving someone a bad day Avoiding Europort is a better idea overall, especially when the 2.5k player cap is gone. Anyway good luck truckers:) P.S. if you don't feel like going into Rotterdam, travel to Amsterdam, It is only a couple of mins longer added onto your journey but it can be generally safer. Hi everyone, Today we're releasing a test version of a dark theme for our forum, made by our own @Digi7al. You can find and activate this in the forum footer, here: Keep in mind this is a test version. It is not the officially supported theme. It's an alternative theme for you to use, at your own responsibility. Known bugs Some posts will have a white background on the dark theme. When pasting a post or text from a page with a white background, the background may remain. Similarly, when copy/pasting from a post with the dark theme, it can keep it's dark background on the white theme as well. The above bugs are caused by how IPB handles copy/pasting formatted content. You can avoid this by removing formatting (unless you specifically need it) when pasting content in your own posts.

I noticed that a very few times, my game would "alt + tab" itself out (usually less than 10 minutes after I go in multiplayer). Then about roughly an hour or two max, the game would just freeze while the sounds keep playing. Can't "ctrl + shift + esc" or "ctrl + alt + del", my gaming laptop just doesn't want to know s***. Which forces me to keep my power button pressed while I'm at stop in the middle of traffic... And what's really odd, I played in single player and absolutely nothing happened, it just played like a charm like it used to in both sp and mp... It was not happening before until a very few days ago!! I did not install anything except maybe the Teamspeak update. Nothing was showing in game logs when the "freeze" would happen, just a bunch of skoda camera warnings (while I'm driving a truck) and then it just stopped. EDIT: I may have found the source of the freeze, it might be because I was messing with trailer cargo mass (save editing). Since I brought it back to 0 kg, game didn't freeze in mp so far. Crosses fingers... Will mess around stuff to see if it's definitely the cause of it.

I would say that the profit would get split by looking at who drove the furthest. If you drove most of the way then your friend took it round the corner, then you would get the most profit. Alternately it could get split evenly. As for stopping people stealing them, it could be made that you have to couple up a least once, or you could have some way of selecting who you want to be able to couple up with the load. Beacons should be allowed with these, hope they are worth it....i think new rules will be needed for other drivers i.e being they are wider they have priority for wide turns etc & you cant overtake them on a single lane road! Cars are cool when you're bored to try to deliver trailers and get rammed by others with cars :)) . But a truck with pilot paint was better and good looking !

I love the scout cars, at first, I thought they were pointless but I used them yesterday just to cruise around. They are quite fast and are useful in a convoy to guide the convoy and then catch back up. I only have one problem with them and that is that the braking is absolutely terrible. A number of times that an accident has happened in front of me and I have gone flying into them as the brakes are so bad.I know it's probably to try and balance them out but please the brakes need to be slightly adjusted to make them a little bit more responsive. Apart from that I actually quite enjoy using them to go for a cruise back to the city.

If you don't want to get rammed by other users, why would you play online than? You can always play offline or connect to MP first, and than disable your internet connection, than nobody can ram you as you lost the connection with the server.

This is, in essence, a non-collision hack. It would give the trolls an opportunity to create even more carnage by going inside someone and turning it off, just like what happens in the exits of the service stations. -1
